Scott Stulberg
Scott Stulberg is an award-winning photographer and teaches digital photography and Photoshop at UCLA Extension and the Julia Dean Photo Workshops, both in Los Angeles. Along with teaching other workshops, he has run Macintosh Graphics User Groups for many years, where they deal with the latest software and tips and tricks for Photoshop. Scott's main focus is on stock photography and is represented by Corbis and Getty Images among others. Whether it's 2am in Bangkok in the suffocating humidity or paragliding 5,000 feet up in the air, Scott always has his camera nearby.
"I've had many gifts in my life ... but maybe the best one of all was the camera my father gave me when I was ten years old. A few years later a whole new world opened up for me when my parents built a darkroom for me in our basement. Under the safelights, smelling chemicals and listening to music, I lost all track of time watching my images come to life. Although I've been using Photoshop for many years, it was the countless hours in the darkroom that made me fall in love with photography."
"Growing up with a darkroom in my home is what really made me fall in love with photography and filing my own negative carriers to give my photos their own unique edges was always a challenge, but worth all the effort. The day PhotoFrame came out years ago was the day everything changed with making frames for your photos. OnOne keeps making Photoframe better and better and has made creating and tweaking your own frames a piece of cake.
My favorite software however, is Focalpoint. Having the ability, after the shoot, to creatively alter the depth of field and add beautiful blur to my images is invaluable. The powerful tools that Focalpoint provides are just what the doctor ordered for many of my photos. You have to see this software in action to believe it. Software doesn't get any better than this and Focalpoint is one plugin that I cannot live without!"
"The best part of being a travel and stock photographer are the places all over the globe that I get to venture out to and return with not just my photographs but incredible memories. I haven't used film since 2001 and love the immense benefits of shooting digitally. However, as I say on my website, photography is more than talking about pixels. It is about vision, ideas and the willingness to let your imagination soar."
